Roving with Perseverance Exhibit Opening
Nov 19-20
The exhibit “Roving with Perseverance” opens the weekend of Nov 19-20. The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science will be one of only a few places across the nation to host full-scale replicas of the Mars rover Perseverance and the helicopter Ingenuity, and the exhibit includes information and images from this amazing Mars rover mission.
During this opening weekend, New Mexico scientists working with the mission, other Perseverance team members, and engineers and mission personnel from the Jet Propulsion Lab, will be on hand from 10am to 4pm each day to talk to visitors, answer questions, and show off some of the technology used by the rover. Mars activities and Perseverance goodies will be available (as long as supplies last) during the opening weekend. At 1pm each day of the opening weekend, mission personnel will give a special short talk in the Museum’s planetarium.
After the opening weekend, the exhibit will be on display at the Museum through May 30, 2023. It is included in the Museum regular admission.
