“Happy Birthday, America!”

The Rio Grande Symphonic Band today announced two new concert dates for America’s 250th birthday celebration. Maestro John Emory and the Band will present “Happy Birthday, America!”, a concert of American patriotic music. The Band will perform at both the New Mexico Liberty Bell ceremony and at Rio Rancho’s” Fourth of July 250” celebration. At the latter, it will open the evening’s musical entertainment before a performance by the New Mexico Philharmonic.
The Liberty Bell ceremony takes place at Expo New Mexico’s Boxcar Stage, 300 San Pedro Dr NE, Albuquerque, where the Band will perform from 11:00 AM to noon, when the official ceremony begins. The Boxcar Stage is located on Expo New Mexico’s main thoroughfare next to the Fine Arts building. Event admission is free. Expo New Mexico will charge a parking fee for attendees.
Rio Rancho’s” Fourth of July 250” celebration begins with the Band’s performance at 6:00 PM at the Sky Room, located between Rio Rancho City Hall and the Rio Rancho Events Center at 3200 Civic Center Circle NE, Rio Rancho. The Band will be followed by the New Mexico Philharmonic at 8:15 PM. Fireworks are scheduled to follow the performance, weather permitting. Event admission and parking are free.
